MANAGERS of five ground-breaking ventures, located in and around north Pembrokeshire, will tell their tales this Friday, October 5, in Cardigan.

The five pioneers have developed local solutions to global problems in the fields of healthy affordable food, natural health, low carbon homes for all, community take-overs and refugee integration.

Cris Tomos of Canolfan Hermon won 2014 UK social pioneer of the year for his work in helping communities to buy back important facilities like schools and police stations.

Croeso Teifi is a leading community sponsorship charity, integrating refugees into rural Wales.

Jim Bowen runs Clynfyw Care Farm, providing healing and care to those in need and runs multiple projects with participants.

Adam Vincent, of Glebelands Organic nursery, has a traditional organic market garden on the outskirts of St Dogmaels, a large team keeps the acres of vegetables and polytunnels productive all year and supplys a busy shop.

Glen Peters has transformed Rhosygilwen mansion into a cultural centre with a year-round programme of performance. He has developed one of the largest solar farms in Wales and uses the income from that for his latest project; affordable solar homes, designed and built by local artisans which house local families at affordable rents.

All five will give short presentations followed by an open discussion at the first Plaid Cymru annual conference to be held in Cardigan.

The event will run from 5.30pm to 7.30pm on Friday, October 5, and all are welcome. To confirm your attendance, contact Vicky Moller on 07791 809 180 vickymoller@btinternet.com.
