HAVERFORDWEST’s new secondary school has received an early Christmas present from the town’s residents.
Haverfordwest High VC School is soon to complete its first term and celebrate its first Christmas.
The new chair of governors Paul Lucas has recently received a cheque for £2,500, presented by Peter Lewis on behalf of the people of Haverfordwest.
“This donation is to be spent as the governors see fit, with the proviso that it should not be directed to areas that are the responsibility of the education authority,” said Mr Lewis.
“This small gift is designed to reflect the hopes and aspirations for the children of our town and its surrounding communities.
“It is the result of a campaign started several months ago and I must thank all those people who kindly donated and in particular the Sheriffs’ Association, Haverfordwest Rotary Club and Mr Mark Edwards.
“It is our sincere hope that this will go, in some small way, to encourage the governors, head teacher, staff and pupils as they face the challenges of 2019 and beyond.”
