A doorman spotted a bayonet tucked into a man’s trousers outside a night club, a court has heard.
Samuel Howard Charles Thomas, of Bonvilston, Cardiff, pleaded guilty to possession of a sharp article in a public place when he appeared before Haverfordwest magistrates on Tuesday, January 15.
The court heard that Thomas, 21, was found carrying a bayonet in Main Street, Pembroke, in the early hours of December 29.
Sian Vaughan, prosecuting, said there had been an altercation outside a Pembroke nightclub at 3.05am, and Thomas later returned to the scene after the parties went their separate ways.
“He thought it sensible to return to the area and by that time had armed himself with a knife.
“A doorman noticed a knife tucked down the rear of his waist band.”
Magistrates declined jurisdiction and Thomas, who was previously of clean character, will next appear at Swansea crown court on February 15.
He was released on unconditional bail.
