PLANS for groundworks which would lead to the construction of a food production park outside of Haverfordwest have gone on display.

The Withybush Food Park is a long discussed Pembrokeshire County Council project, which would see a hub of food production businesses moving into the Withybush trading estate north of the county town.

Plans on show at the Riverside Library, Haverfordwest show new roads, water drainage systems and street lights which would prepare the way for new factory units at the industrial estate.

The planned groundworks would be carried out north of a unit currently occupied by Birch Utility Services, and on the opposite side of the A40 from Vincent Davies.

The food park project was first announced in 2016, and at the time it was claimed that more than 1,000 jobs could be created by the venture.

The plans currently on display are only part of a much larger area at the Withybush trading estate. which has been designated for the proposed food park.

Western Telegraph:

The park is likely to be a joint development, with support coming from PCC, Welsh Government, and several companies.

The plans are on display as part of pre-application consultation, and residents and businesses can have their say on proposals by visiting the Riverside Library and cultural centre.

The plans will be on view until Friday, April 26.
