A CHARITY in Pembrokeshire has received a donation from a grant as part of recognition to Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, for services to the 'life of the nation'.

Paul Sartori Hospice at Home has received a grant from the Mark Master Masons of Dyfed wholly funded by its charity, the Mark Benevolent Fund.

The £4,000 donation is part of a Major Capital Grant of £1.3m to over 250 hospices in England, Wales, Channel Islands and Isle of Man, which recognises the contribution made by HRH Prince Philip to the service of the Crown and the life of the nation.

The Provincial Grand Master of Dyfed, Gary Hicks and representatives from Mark Lodges in Milford Haven, Haverfordwest, Fishguard and Cardigan presented the donation to Judith Williams the grant development officer and Pat Coombs the clinical co-ordinator and equipment facilitator at Paul Sartori House, the charity’s head office in Haverfordwest.

Gary Hicks said, “We are absolutely delighted that the members of the Province have chosen to support Paul Sartori Hospice at Home.

“This terrible pandemic has taken a great toll on charities across the country. The Paul Sartori Foundation has supported our communities since 1982 and this small gift will go some way to help the dedicated staff, and volunteers deliver essential services to those in need within our communities.”

Judith Williams said “We are very grateful to the Mark Benevolent Fund and the Mark Master Masons of Dyfed for their continuing support.

“This recent donation will enable us to continue to provide our services free to those who require our support. We recognise the generosity of each individual at each Mark Lodge who donated. Thank you.”
