There have been 387 new coronavirus cases – and seven deaths – recorded in the Hywel Dda Health Board area according to the latest figures today (Wednesday, October 20).

The latest data shows there were 233 new cases in Carmarthenshire, 107 in Pembrokeshire and 47 in Ceredigion since the last report.

The total number of cases across the three counties now stands at 37,096 – 22,094 in Carmarthenshire, 10,115 in Pembrokeshire and 4,887 in Ceredigion.

There were seven new Covid-related deaths recorded in the Hywel Dda area since the last report, with the total standing at 546 throughout the pandemic.

In total 3,450 new cases of coronavirus and 13 new Covid-related deaths have been reported across Wales bringing the national total to 408,294 cases and 6,050 deaths.

There have been 20,473 tests done across the country since the last report.

Across Wales 2,419,276 people have had their first dose of covid-19 vaccine and 2,237,199 have had their second dose and are fully vaccinated.

Hywel Dda University Health Board is no longer updating its vaccination reports with invitations for third ‘booster’ doses now going out to residents across the three counties in priority order.
