West Wales rockers Broken Lines are looking forward to adding to the soundtrack of post lockdown life in Cardigan this week.

The Pembrokeshire three-piece have long viewed Cardigan as home territory and are thrilled to be playing the town’s iconic Cellar Bar on Saturday, November 20.

Before Covid struck, Broken Lines were enjoying exciting times. Their debut album Liberation had been released to great acclaim and had earned fans throughout the UK and even amongst the Los Angeles music scene.

Live performances underlined what an exciting and talented trio they are, and a headline gig at Cardigan’s Small World Theatre was on the calendar.

“And then the world shut down!” said guitarist and singer David Whelan.

“It just seems so appropriate to be getting back on the live scene at The Cellar Bar in Cardigan. Owner Steve and his team there have done incredible things over the last 18 months to provide something for people whenever possible“.

Covid-19 hit the live music scene as hard as any other sector which performers and venues becoming inactive and empty since Spring 2020.

As difficult as it has been, Broken Lines ensured they stayed active as best they could within the confines of pandemic restrictions and put the time to best use.

“We worked remotely, writing and recording, staying creative, playing and planning. And as soon as we could get back into our studio, we were bursting with ideas and energy”, said David

Last Christmas Broken Lines recorded a festive charity single to raise money for Shelter Cymru and continued to develop new material.

Impossible to pigeonhole, Broken Lines fuse alternative rock, progressive rock and punk with inflections of other influences to forge a sound that is dramatic, dynamic and thrilling.

“We can’t wait to get out in front of the people of Cardigan again”, said David Whelan.

“We all need to do what we can to provide live entertainment, to support the artists and the venues and get back into the habit of congregating and celebrating.

"It’s good for mental health and it’s great for the soul!”
