A yellow weather warning has been issued for Pembrokeshire with heavy rain and flooding expected. 

The Met Office issued a yellow weather warning which will be in place from midnight on Wednesday (November 15) to 6pm on Thursday (November 16) with heavy rain forecast likely to cause flooding and disruption to travel. 

It will affect most of Pembrokeshire including Haverfordwest, Tenby, Narberth and St Davids with some areas expected to get up to 40mm of rain and winds of over 50mph.

What to expect from the yellow weather warning in Pembrokeshire

The Met Office said the yellow weather warning was issued across Pembrokeshire due to heavy rain which could cause flooding.

The heavy rain associated with the yellow weather warning is also set to cause:

  • Spray and flooding on roads
  • Disruptions and delays to bus and train services
  • Flooding of homes and businesses
  • Interruption to power supplies and other services 

What different Met Office weather warnings mean

A Met Office spokesperson added: "A spell of rain, heavy at times, will move east across southern parts of England and the south of Wales during Thursday.

"10-20 mm of rain falling widely with 30-40 mm possible near the south coast of England and over east facing hills.

"Strong winds, gusting 50 mph near coasts, will accompany the rain, with a small chance of gusts reaching 60 mph for the Isles of Scilly and west of Cornwall."

The yellow weather warning will be in place across areas of Pembrokeshire from midnight on Wednesday, November 15 until 6pm on Thursday, November 16.
