An accountancy firm has welcomed a new group of trainee accountants through its apprenticeship scheme.
Ashmole & Co, one of the largest accountancy firms in south Wales, has appointed six new trainees across its south and mid Wales offices, including its Haverfordwest branch.
Among the new recruits is Charlie Bujega from St Clears, who is also a cricketer for Wales, Glamorgan Under-18s, and Ammanford Cricket Club.
Charlie began his accountancy journey through a finance apprenticeship with Dyfed-Powys Police and is now continuing his AAT qualifications with Ashmole & Co.
William Hughes, partner at Ashmole & Co in Haverfordwest and Tenby, said: "We are bowled over that Charlie has joined our team.
"It is important as a profession that we help nurture the next generation of professional accountants.
"Local talented trainees are the lifeblood for the future success of our firm.
"We are a local business and our commitment to sourcing local talent stems from our belief that the success of our business is closely tied to the well-being of the community around us.
"By hiring locally, we can help build a more robust and resilient economy."
In his role as a trainee accountant, Charlie supports the preparation of accounts, VAT, and tax returns for a variety of clients, including businesses and individuals.
Outside of work, he remains dedicated to cricket, competing across the UK in matches that can last from three hours to three days.
Ashmole & Co will sponsor a match for Ammanford Cricket Club in July, where Charlie will be playing.
Charlie said: "I am enjoying the role of trainee accountant as I need to be able to think outside the box and be adaptive to different scenarios depending on the type of client I am working for.
"It is very rewarding when I help complete a set of accounts for a client.
"I am currently studying for my AAT Level 3 and am learning the various procedures and laws that surround accounting."
Ashmole & Co plans to continue its apprenticeship scheme in 2026.
The firm welcomes applications from school, college, or university graduates, including those currently studying for GCSEs, A levels, or a degree, as well as individuals seeking a career change into accountancy.
Successful candidates receive a fully funded training package alongside a basic salary, a permanent contract, and full-time employment.
More information and a trainee accountant job description are available on the company’s website.
