Pupils have gained an up-close look at how homes are built during a visit to a housing development.
Students from Cleddau Reach VC School toured The Croft site in Llangwm, guided by representatives from ateb and construction firm Morganstone.
The visit gave pupils a chance to see the construction process in action and ask questions about the different roles involved in building new homes.
Daniel Jones, new homes lead at ateb, said: "Visits like this are a great way to help young people see what goes into building new homes in their community and to introduce them to the different roles involved in construction.
"We’re keen to continue working with local schools so pupils can learn more about the industry and hopefully inspire some future careers in construction."
The Croft is being developed by ateb as part of its commitment to providing high-quality new homes for local communities.
The site will offer 67 much-needed homes for Pembrokeshire, including 22 shared ownership opportunities to help first-time buyers onto the property ladder.
Andrew Collins, operations manager for Morganstone, said: "We see building strong ties with local schools as an essential part of our CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) commitment and hopefully today’s visit, the second time pupils have been to site, will foster an interest amongst the children and hopefully encourage some of them to consider a career in construction in years to come.
"The children were very excited and enthusiastic and asked some very interesting questions about how the homes are constructed and we look forward to seeing them again in the coming month"
The site visit is part of ateb and Morganstone’s wider community engagement work and comes as construction continues on the new homes.
It also supports ateb’s goals around education, employment, and promoting future opportunities for young people through genuine learning experiences.
