A NEW heritage centre is preparing to open its doors with recruitment underway for two key roles.
The Henry Tudor Centre in Pembroke will celebrate the legacy of the Welsh-born monarch who founded the Tudor dynasty.
It will open in March 2027 after a major redevelopment of a derelict Grade II listed building.
The centre will tell the story of how Henry Tudor, who was born in Pembroke, took the Welsh language to the English court and went on to be crowned king.
Expected to attract around 30,000 visitors a year, the centre will also house a new library and community café, and a healthcare, social services and supported employment facility in the adjoining premises.
The Henry Tudor Trust, which will operate the centre, is now recruiting for two key positions.
A general manager and a community programme coordinator are being sought to help lead the project to launch and ensure its success as both a heritage destination and a community resource.

The general manager job specification reads: "The successful candidate will oversee the launch and play a pivotal role in shaping its future as a high-quality heritage attraction, community hub, and visitor destination in the heart of Pembroke.
"The general manager will provide overall leadership, operational oversight, and strategic direction for the centre.
"They will ensure financial sustainability through ticket sales and fundraising, manage day-to-day operations, support staff, and deliver an exceptional visitor experience."
The general manager role is full-time (40 hours a week) with a salary of £38,000 per year, though a job-share option is available at 24 hours per week for £19,200.
The post begins in November, as the general manager will work alongside the Henry Tudor trustees in the four months ahead to prepared for the centre’s scheduled opening.
The trust is also seeking an enthusiastic community programme coordinator to develop and deliver a volunteer programme and community-focused activities.
This one-year, part-time post, which is for 24 hours per week, is funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
The role will begin in October, working with local groups, schools, and other partners to shape the centre as a welcoming heritage attraction.
"The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and delivering a volunteer programme alongside an engaging schedule of community-focused activities," the job specification read.
"Although the post is a one-year contract, there may be an opportunity for continued funding of this role."
Applications for the general manager post close at noon on August 28, whilst the deadline for the community programme coordinator role is noon on August 10.
