Dear editor — In 2002, county councillors decided that all parking was to be charged for when ticket machines became disabled accessible.

The disabled motorist is given a two hour ticket for the price of a one hour ticket. What benefit is there to be given two hours?

If traffic wardens are given instructions to ticket disabled drivers who park on double yellow lines for causing an obstruction, how can they prove an ‘obstruction’? Obstruct means to stop or divert, so as long as the traffic can flow there is no obstruction.

As a blue badge holder I am very conscious that the best place to park is in a disabled space. When I am charged for this right I will park in places which are not designated and then it is up to the police or a warden to prove an obstruction.
