Dear editor

Regarding the article ‘Toxic waste fears on land in line for 37 new homes’ (Western Telegraph, October 29th), I witnessed the trenches being dug in the field behind the Consolidated Beryllium factory off Marble Hall Road in Milford Haven years ago.

Immediately I telephoned the public health department of the county council to register my concerns.

Subsequently, I was informed that certain materials had been removed from the site and deposited in requested authorised sites outside the county.
