Have you played it yet?

What am I talking about?

Only the biggest game on the P.S. 3 release schedule, possibly not just this year, but for the console's entire life span. Say it in hushed tones: that's right, Killzone 2 is finally out.

I was lucky enough to get a copy yesterday and spent a good few hours on both the single player campaign and it's various multi player modes. I'm certainly not going to attempt to review the game (have you ready any of the reviews of the game so far? they capture none of the games intensity or fluidity) but here are some early impressions.

Campaign. This follows a tried and tested F.P.S. structure of move from point A to point B etc but does so with such panache I kind of forgot that I had done it at least 500 times before. The environments also help: they're dense, dirty and exciting, with the game constantly shoving you up and down staircases, over ledges etc so that it flows very well.

Multiplayer. Two things stood out for me here: the fact that mission types are dynamic and change as you play lends online play a new degree of fluidity, plus it means you get to continue going after the other team while you wait for the next game type to begin. The maps: they're huge! They're also full of staircases and corridors etc, some of them play out across 3 (vertical) levels. Some of, if not, the best multiplayer maps I've ever seen.

Anyway, I'm going to play it, sign in and let me know what you think.
