Strange lights seen in the sky over Narberth last night (Monday) have raised questions as to whether UFOs are once again patrolling the famous Pembrokeshire triangle.

Western Telegraph reader Peter Owen, from Dingle, Narberth, spotted three objects in the sky to the south of the town at around 10.15pm.

He said that the three objects, that had orange and white lights around the outside, rose above the Halken Crescent area of the town.

Two of them, which seemed to be cylindrical in shape, hovered for a few seconds before veering off to the west, gaining height rapidly.

Mr Owen said that the third craft, which seemed to be round, hovered for between 20 and 30 seconds before following the same flight path.

Ten minutes later Mr Owen, who was with a neighbour and his brother, saw two more of the objects which again moved off in a similar manner.

He said that all five craft made no noise.

"I've never seen anything like it in my life," said 61-year-old Mr Owen, "particularly the third one. It made me feel a bit uneasy."

"I hadn't been drinking or anything. I first thought it could be a new American military machine, but if they were military why were they all lit up? They were silent and made no noise it was puzzling."

Daniel Hodges, community relations assistant for the RAF, said that there were no planned military exercises in the area last night however it could have been normal military training or civilian aircraft at a height of over 2000 feet, for which no records are kept.

He said that the movement described did seem "slightly odd" and a bit strange".

"We do have a jump jet that can do this sort of thing but probably not taking off in the area. It doesn't sound like a military exercise but it could be. That's not to say he didn't see a UFO," he said.

"The MoD does not have any expertise or role in respect of ‘UFO/flying saucer’ matters or the question of the existence or otherwise of extraterrestrial life forms, about which it remains totally open-minded.

"I should add that to date, the MoD knows of no evidence which substantiates the existence of these alleged phenomena."
