"Another summer, another show! The Pembrokeshire County Show is far from being just another show." writes Pembrokeshire County Council leader John Davies.

"With over a 100,000 visiting Withybush during the third week in August, captures the importance of the show to the county and to the many thousands that support it as part of their annual pilgrimage to Pembrokeshire.

"Second in size to the Royal Welsh highlights the determination and resilience of its executive as they celebrate 50 years at Withybush.

"With the country deep in recession coupled with darker financial clouds gathering on public spend, it is heartening to witness that agriculture continues to strengthen the economic hand of Pembrokeshire.

"It is one of the few remaining primary industries we have left as a nation. Given its contribution towards a secure food supply along with its ability to sustain a rural economy, the County Show will once again provide our farming industry the platform and stage it so rightly deserves.

"It is also heartening to witness the involvement of young people at the show annually.

"Whilst the Young Farmers Club movement continues to plough its youthful energy into the three days, we can all be assured of the future of the show and its Society. Mr Malcolm Lewis this years President and his wife Jean are prime examples of such a legacy and following."
