South Hook and Chevron have teamed to recognise the important work of the RNLI in keeping Pembrokeshire waters a safer place. The community relations teams at both South Hook and Chevron paid a visit to Angle lifeboat station to make a £5,000 donation to some of the crew and staff for their tremendous work.

The lifeboat station is one of South Hook’s and Chevron’s closest neighbours and the two companies are delighted to play their part in a worthwhile cause. The lifeboat volunteers regularly risk their lives by going to sea in what are often treacherous conditions. The support given will help sustain the work they do as a central part of the community and the haven.

Lifeboat operations manager, John Allen-Mirehouse, was delighted with the support.

He said: “The help of these two firms is very welcome, and demonstrates the close community ties which are still present in Pembrokeshire.”

Angle RNLI launched its new state-of-the-art Tamar Class lifeboat earlier in March this year, the Mark Mason. It can withstand the worst of conditions and is designed to be faster, safer and more effective than its predecessors and has been involved in more than ten call-outs so far this year.
