More than 1,000 job hunters have poured through the doors of a recruitment fair looking for work at the new Pembroke power station.
The event at the Technium Centre on Wednesday, November 4th, was organised by the local Job Centre Plus office.
It was hosted by lead contractor Alstom for its main civil engineering and structural steel erection subcontractors.
Adrian Cook, site HR advisor for Alstom, said: “Along with the local JobCentre Plus team, we were really pleased to be able to host the event for our subcontractors.
“They were delighted with the very high level of interest, from both local people coming off jobs at the LNG plants but also from as far afield as Liverpool and Essex.’’ Another event is being planned for spring next year, to highlight vacancies with the main mechanical and electrical sub-contractors at the power station construction site.
