A Pembrokeshire animal rescue team received a visit from an award-winning actress yesterday (Monday) to highlight its latest fundraising venture.

Green Acres animal rescue was set up two years ago by eight volunteers and has so far re-homed over 180 animals in Pembrokeshire.

The rescue team have recently taken over the former animal welfare shops in Charles Street, Milford Haven yesterday Hollyoaks star Claire Cooper travelled down from Liverpool to pay them a visit.

Volunteer and co-founder of the rescue Sarah Kimpson said: "It has been an extremely hectic time setting up the two shops but it is a huge development for the rescue and will provide much needed funds to pay for our huge vets bills."

During her visit animal-lover Claire met some of the dedicated army of volunteers at the not for profit rescue centre and two dogs recently rescued by the team.

Jodie, a seven-month old rough-coated lurcher and two-year old lurcher Rocket are now in need of new homes.
