S4C’s hit series Bro heads for Pembrokeshire tonight (Wednesday) as intrepid presenters Shân Cothi and Iolo Williams visit the market town of Narberth.

The pair will give viewers an insight into life in the area as they meet the characters and visit the attractions of the town, which lies on the old invisible Landsker Line that separates north and south Pembrokeshire.

During filming Iolo quenched his thirst with the waters of the well-known Prince’s Gate bottled water, sourced at Glyn and Eira Jones’ farm He also visited the town's workhouse with historian Meredydd Barker. The institution was apparently attacked by the Rebecca Rioters who, dressed and disguised in women’s clothes, usually targeted tollgates.

“It’s a town steeped in history and folklore and we had a fascinating time here. It was a pleasure and privilege to meet the people at the heart of the Narberth community,” said Iolo.

Presenter Shân got into the fast lane when she met members of the local classic motorbike club who explained to her why they love rallying motorbikes from the 1950s to 1970s .

She kept up the frantic pace , showing that she can dance as well as any Strictly Come Dancing celebrity as she took part in a jig with the local ‘Heb Enw’ Morris Dancers.

Then she chilled out with the local embroidery group at the Bloomfield Centre and sampled ‘The Black Rock Grill’ method of cooking at Ian Gravell’s highly-praised restaurant, The Carreg.

“We received such a warm welcome in Narberth," said Shân. "The people featured in each programme are the key to Bro’s success.”

Bro series is on S4C at 8.25pm tonight, English subtitles are available.
