Thousands of people have left online tributes to Gavin Collier, victim of a fatal crash on the Penally bypass on Wednesday afternoon.

The 20-year old from the Neath area was the passenger in a blue Peugeot 106 involved in a collision with a stationary vehicle on the A4139 at around 3.15pm.

The driver of the vehicle was airlifted to the Heath Hospital where he is in a serious but stable condition.

A Facebook group set up in Gavin's memory on Wednesday afternoon has already attracted over 1,450 members and dozens of tributes have been left.

"RIP Gav. You'll be missed by so many. I can't believe you're gone. I grew up knowing you and you were taken away too soon. My thoughts are with you and your family. Sleep tight Gav. Love you," wrote Sarah Elliot.

"The smiling handsome boy I remember from school. It's so tragic that you were taken so soon. You obviously touched so many people with your good nature and winning smile and will never be forgotten. My heart goes out to those who were close to you. Sleep tight Gav," wrote Natalie Walsh.

Gavin was a member of the Psychos kickboxing team, all of whom will wear black armbands at their tournament tomorrow (Saturday).

Police are investigating the accident and are appealing for any witnesses, especially people who saw the Peugeot travelling along the Penally bypass towards Tenby before the accident, to contact PC Justin Williams at Pembrokeshire roads policing unit, Haverfordwest, on 101.
