THIS YEAR'S Western Telegraph/Cystic Fibrosis pram push through Haverfordwest began in glorious sunshine on Saturday, despite the event being clouded by disappointment over the turnout of only three prams.
Bongo Clive's Bongo Rhythm Band, however, kept spirits high, creating a wonderful atmosphere and attracting the crowds.
The event has raised over £24,000 for the Pembrokeshire Cystic Fibrosis branch since the first push in 1991.
On previous occasions, the event has seen up to 15 entries. However, because of new insurance regulations, the police, fire service and ambulance service could not take part.
The 14th Signal Regiment at Brawdy, who have been faithful supporters, also regretted they were unable to take part.
The procession was flagged off with the Pembrokeshire flag by Haverfordwest mayor, Councillor Alan Buckfield, who with Western Telegraph publisher, Peter John; town crier David Rye, CF branch president, Mrs Penny Drew, and CF branch chairman, Sybil Edwards, led the way from Castle Square to the judging point on the Old Bridge.
Judges were Mrs Penny Drew, Marley Davies, Haverfordwest Chamber of Commerce chairman, and Malcolm Green, of Greens Motors.
Allsorts for God (Baby Bongo) won the Greens Motors Trophy for best pram. The award was presented by Malcolm Green.
The Castle Trophy, presented by Barry Chapman, for best team went to Total.
The Oakwood Trophy for the bonniest baby was awarded to Matthew Thomas, of the Western Telegraph. He received the trophy from the mayor.
Allsorts for God (Baby Bongo) also received the Pembrokeshire College Trophy for best Youth Team, and this was also presented by the mayor.
Marshalling of the event was arranged by Cllr David Westrup.
Grateful thanks from the CF branch went to the Western Telegraph for holding the event and to the Bongo Rhythm Band for providing the lively entertainment on Castle Square.
