County Cricket: Division Two Llangwm (212 for 9 dec) drew with Haverfordwest 2nds (152 for 8)

A battling, unbroken ninth wicket stand between young bowler Jonathan Morgan (41) and his older partner Micky Phillips (18) helped Haverfordwest Seconds gain a draw at Pill Parks.

Llangwm batted first and scored 212 for 9 before declaring after 42 overs.

Chris Inward showed what an asset he is going to be to Llangwm this season.

The talented young all rounder opened the batting and scored 105 runs from only 106 deliveries, with ten fours and three sixes that dominated the innings.

Ian and Gary Phillips managed 17 and 16 respectively before Henry Thomas helped Inward advance the score past 200 with a boundary-sprinkled 45.

Morgan picked up 1 for 31 from his seven overs and Phillips enhanced his claim to be considered something of an all-rounder with an excellent return of 5 for 41.

Paul Luke continued his good form with 2 for 53 and Mohammed chipped in with 1 for 37. Most of the early Town batsmen managed double figures but then got out as Darren Brick (2 for 34), Sean Thomas (2 for 26) and Andrew Brock (2 for 1 in six overs, five of them maidens) kept plugging away.

At 96 for 8 Haverfordwest were down and out but then Morgan showed he can bat as well as bowl, ably assisted by the ubiquitous Micky Phillips as the pair lasted until the end of the 48 overs to secure a creditable draw.
