Two intrepid motorbikers recently stopped for a game of bowls at Fishguard on their way around the British Isles.
Derek Garrity, on a Suzuki 600, and Brian Marlow, on a Harley Davidson Roadster, are on a biking and bowling challenge around Britain to raise money for the charity New Lives, which funds an orphanage in Sri Lanka.
The pair were passing through Fishguard after leaving Kent on their way to Ireland, the first leg of their 1,500-mile trip.
They stopped off at Fishguard and Goodwick Bowls Club, where they enjoyed a game with the mayor and mayoress of Fishguard and Goodwick.
Despite being in their 60s, the adventurous pair have taken on the challenge with relish. However the trip was almost over before it began. At the 11th hour, Brian Marlow's wife fell and broke her leg.
He said: "It was difficult to decide to go on, I thought we'd have to call the whole thing off."
Derek said: "We read a book, the one where Ewan McGregor goes around the world on motorbikes. However since we are 62 and 67, we decided to stick to the British Isles."
