The Maritime Heritage Programme is giving people the chance to experience life as an 18th century sailor.

If you're aged 18 to 24 you can enter a free draw on the Milford Haven Port Authority stand at the Pembrokeshire County Show next week to win a three-night adventure on board Endeavour, either sailing from St Helier (Jersey) to Milford Haven on August 31st to September 3rd or from Milford Haven to Belfast on September 7th to 10th.

Two winners will be drawn from all correct entries and they will be notified by post. (Winners will have to cover the cost of the journey to St Helier/from Belfast).

The draw is part of the Maritime Heritage Programme's celebrations to mark the visit of Captain Cook's replica ship, Endeavour over September 4th-6th.

Stella Hooper, Maritime Heritage Programme officer said: "The ship will be moored at Hakin Wharf in Milford Haven for three days where it will be open to the public.

"We wanted to mark this occasion and what better way than giving people the chance to experience life on board. We expect a high number of entries as it isn't everyday that you can win such a unique prize!"

As well as giving people the chance to experience life on board, the Maritime Heritage Programme is also offering people the opportunity of taking to the water as a member of the 13 strong crew of Pembrokeshire's new replica of a 38-foot 18th century captain's gig. This ten oar open vessel also has an impressive turn of speed under sail.

People can register their interest by visiting the Milford Haven Port Authority stand at the Pembrokeshire County Show or by telephoning 01646 696108.
