VISITORS to the village of Angle often face an unusual road hazard. They are caught unawares by ducks and geese wandering across the road.

That's why a sign, showing a duck, was put up.

When it was vandalised, local resident Tarnya Meschiati, of Davrni Design, came to the rescue.

"Vandals tore off the duck's head on the original sign. I do a lot of animation work, so I painted a duck head, had it laminated and put it on the sign," she explained.

Tarnya was also asked to make a 'goose' sign and they are now on each side of the road at Carter's Green Farm, Angle.

"The ducks and geese are always going back and forward across the road and I call them Angle's own traffic lights. I usually get out of my car and shoo them back to the side of the road," she explained.

"All the locals know about them, but the visitors must be quite surprised when they have to stop to let them cross the road.

"I have had a lot of comments about the signs, and it's nice to know that they make people laugh."

Tarnya, who works in the village shop, also paints pictures and posters, mainly for herself and friends.
