Football: James Williams Pembrokeshire League Division One Monkton Swifts 3 Pennar Robins 0 CHAMPIONS-elect Monkton Swifts gained sweet revenge over arch-derby rivals Pennar Robins with a three-goal victory at Monkton Lane.

Robins are the only side this season to inflict defeat at the beginning of the season over the high-soaring Swifts.

Benno Jones' Swifts had to beat Goodwick last night (Tuesday) to clinch their first title in 34 years.

The current league's top scorer Matthew Price opened the Swifts' account in the 18th minute. The top predator struck a terrific edge-of-the-area effort, which crashed into the roof of the net.

Eight minutes later and central defender Paul Jarvis rose well above everyone to nod-in a Dean Busby corner, giving his side a two-goal cushion at the break.

A minute after the turnaround and Price struck again with a simple six yard finish - once again Busby was the provider.

This coming Saturday, the Swifts travel to seven successive times champions Hakin, but the matter of the title could well be decided before these two big guns do battle again.
