THE Fishguard Jazz Festival, organised by Aber Jazz, is to be held on the weekend of September 16th-18th in the heart of the seaside town.

For the second year running Fishguard will play host to a diverse line-up of accomplished bands, amazing audiences with live jazz performances in Theatr Gwaun, The Royal Oak and St Mary's Hall.

Fishguard will come alive as bands, such as Claude Deppa's Five Funky Fellas, Thomas/Chadwick Quartet, Numbers Racket, Django Chutney, Jazz R Us and the mighty Soothsayers (pictured), take over the town for the weekend.

Internationally renowned Claude Deppa and rising stars the Thomas/Chadwick Quartet have previously wowed audiences in Fishguard and have been keen to return.

Andrew Tuddenham, of Aber Jazz said: "We are thrilled to be able to go ahead with this year's festival thanks to funding from Pembrokeshire County Council, Pembrokeshire Tourism and Span Arts.

"So far we have a great range of music for all ages and tastes."

Eugene French, also of Aber Jazz, said: "We are looking for extra funding for headline act, Soothsayers, and we have made an application to Fishguard and Goodwick Town Council."

The Soothsayers have won converts everywhere they have played, most recently at the Small Nations Festival.
