A mischevious seal left emergency services in a flap last week after sparking a big rescue operation in the centre of Haverfordwest.
Police, including the Dyfed-Powys Police helicopter, fire service and ambulance rushed to the New Bridge at Picton Place at about 8pm on Saturday evening following reports of a person seen in the River Cleddau.
The helicopter used its searchlight to scan the river for around 20 minutes before the search was called off.
“What was thought to be a person was in fact a seal,” a police spokesman told the Western Telegraph.
A large seal is often spotted in the Cleddau near the Bristol Trader, even going over the weir at high tide into the town centre.
