BUSINESSES are looking to boost their green credentials more than ever before.

Last month (November) Pembrokeshire Tourism joined forces with the Carbon Trust Wales and held a ‘Going Green’ week.

Pembrokeshire Tourism was encouraging its members to become more environmentally and economically friendly during everyday business.

Regular tips and ideas were uploaded on Pembrokeshire Tourism’s social media sites to encourage local businesses to consider different ways of working and to move more towards long-term environmental and economic sustainability.

Working with the Carbon Trust Wales, Pembrokeshire Tourism was able to offer some members a free energy survey and workshop on reducing carbon emissions and saving money.

Pembrokeshire Tourism is here to support local businesses within the tourism industry, and just one of the aims of the organisation is to assist members in saving money in their business.

Beneficiaries included the Giltar Hotel, Heatherton Country Sports Park, Tenby Museum and Anna’s Welsh Zoo.

Pembrokeshire Tourism chief executive Maudie Hughes said: “Going Green with Pembrokeshire Tourism gave our members the opportunity to find out more about how simple changes to their business practice can make far greater impacts both environmentally and economically.

“A number of our members were able to take advantage of the energy surveys offered by the Carbon Trust in partnership with ourselves, and all members are able to gain access to a range of information about energy and money saving tips, posted in our member’s resource area.”
