ONCE again we are faced with the possibility of the closure of Withybush Hospital.
One wonders if the ‘powers that be’ in the Senedd have ever visited this area and realise the distances involved for people who live here if they have to travel to Carmarthen or Swansea for treatment, which is at present provided admirably on their doorstep in Haverfordwest.
Will transport be provided to cut down pollution and cost? How about in-patients whose next of kin do not drive, will they be completely isolated from their families during their stay in hospital?
We seem to be treated like numbers in this neck of the woods. Several times I have heard comments that people wonder if we are being penalised by the Welsh Assembly because we have a Conservative MP in Westminster!
