A hit crime series is returning to our screens for its final chapter, the BBC has confirmed.

A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder (AGGGTM), based on Holly Jackson’s bestselling book trilogy, will return for a third and final series.

It will conclude the story with Pip Fitz-Amobi’s ultimate investigation.

The drama will return to iPlayer, BBC One, and BBC Three with the third season focussing on the events of the third book, As Good As Dead.

A Good Girl's Guide to Murder to return for third series

Holly Jackson said: "I am ecstatic that we are able to bring A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder to its (bloody) conclusion.

"As Good As Dead is my favourite of the book series and it’s by far my favourite season of the show too.

"You’ll see Pip as you’ve never seen her before.

"It’s dark, breathless, horrible and… somehow still manages to be funny.

"Come on back to Little Kilton for the final time… if you dare."

Filming for the final series has already been completed, with Emma Myers set to reprise her role as Pip alongside returning cast members Zain Iqbal, Henry Ashton, Asha Banks, Jude Morgan-Collie, Eden Hambelton Davies, and Yali Topol Margalith.

"Get ready for a crazy time!"

Lindsay Salt, director of BBC Drama, said: "We’ve loved seeing A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder prove so popular with viewers on the BBC.

"I know its many, many passionate fans will be as delighted as we are to know that the third part of Holly Jackson’s trilogy has already filmed and will be arriving on screens next year.

"Bring it on."

The order is as follows:

  1. A Good Girl's Guide to Murder
  2. Good Girl, Bad Blood
  3. As Good As Dead

There is also a short book, Kill Joy, that some people choose to read before the trilogy, while others read it after.

It's a prequel and is described as the 0.5 book, so it lines up with Pip's life before the first one.
