A batch of ground coffee has been recalled over a mould toxin.

Bialetti's Perfetto Moka caramel-flavoured coffee, sold at TK Maxx, contained ochratoxin A above the permitted limit, according to recall notices from the retailer and manufacturer.

The recall applies to 250g packs with batch code LC5 BD149T and a best-before date of May 29, 2027.

TK Maxx said the coffee was sold in its stores between July and November 2025.

Customers with the affected coffee are being told not to consume it and to return it.

In its recall notice, TK Maxx said: "This product is being recalled because testing identified levels of Ochratoxin A above the permitted limit."

The retailer said the coffee could be returned to any TK Maxx or Homesense store for a full refund or replacement.

Bialetti said customers returning the affected batch to the point of purchase would receive a full refund even without a receipt.

Ochratoxin A is a naturally occurring toxin produced by certain moulds, according to the Food Safety Authority of Ireland, which also issued an alert about the batch.

The authority said consuming the affected product does not pose an immediate health risk, but continuous consumption over a long period may pose a potential risk.

It advised consumers not to use the affected batch and said exposure to the toxin should be minimised.

Bialetti said in its notice: "If you have a package from this batch at home, please do not consume it and return it to the point of purchase."
