WITH their adorable yellow bodies, dungarees and unique language, they have been one of the most popular family film characters for several years, but it seems someone was a little too desperate to get their hands on a Minion.
Pembrokeshire police are appealing for information to locate a three foot tall carving of a Minion which was stolen from the Pembrokeshire County Show.
The Minion was stolen from the horticultural shed at the end of the Show on Thursday August 21.
Ryan Head, of Hakin, had won third prize for his fantastic creation and he and his family have been left bitterly disappointed by the theft.
Ryan's wife Alison told the Western Telegraph: "He just decided to make it out of the blue. He has done some chainsaw carving for a while now and the kids said 'go on dad, make a Minion'.
"He had a few offers from people to buy it but he wanted to enter it in the County Show and we were delighted he won third prize."
Alison said they had been told the Minion would be taken back to the show office for collection but then were told it could not be found, leaving them gutted.
Alison said: "I don't understand how nobody could have seen someone walking off with a 3ft Minion, it's not something you can put in your handbag."
Anybody with any information is asked to contact PC Helen Davies at Haverfordwest Police Station by calling 101.
