DOG owners are being urged to keep their dogs on a lead when walking the coast path.
It follows the death of a dog which fell from the cliffs at Porthgain on Wednesday, January 20.
St Davids RNLI inshore lifeboat was alerted to the incident and launched at 11am. The crew carried out a shoreline search with the assistance of coastguard rescue teams from St Davids and Fishguard on the cliff tops.
The dog was recovered from the foot of the cliff and taken back to Porthgain Harbour.
The lifeboat then returned to station, arriving at 12.23pm.
