A CONCERT raising money to bring children from the Grenfell area to Treginnis Farm for City Children last Friday has raised a staggering £1,800.
Money from the light-hearted Singing for Fun concert's bucket collection, raffle and refreshments will be added to money already raised by the Friends of Treginnis at their summer fair (see letters page).
Farm manager, Dan Jones said,
"I can only say how much I enjoyed the concert. The kindness and generosity of the singers and the audience was breath-taking. A really positive evening for a very sad and worthwhile cause."
The friends need £10,000 to bring a group of 39 children from the Solidarity Sports charity to the farm for a week.
"A very big thank you to all those who have so generously given to the appeal," said friends chairman, Martin Sykes.
"To Anne Hughes' Singing for Fun choir and all those who attended the singalong, to those generous people who have sent cheques to me or posted electronically."
