Misjudging morning sobriety led to a driving ban for a Lamphey carpenter.
Jonathan Harold Conbeer, of Dill Road, pleaded guilty to driving while over the legal alcohol limit when he appeared before Haverfordwest magistrates on Tuesday, February 5.
Vaughan Pritchard-Jones, prosecuting, said police officers could smell alcohol on Conbeer’s breath when they stopped his Vauxhall Astra at Cannaston Bridge on January 22.
He was found to have 58mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath, the legal limit is 35mg.
The court heard that Conbeer, 49, was previously of clean character and held a clean driving licence.
Jonathan Webb, defending, said: “He drank the night before and thought he was okay to drive by 11am, clearly he misjudged his sobriety.”
Magistrates banned carpenter Conbeer from driving for 15 months and fined him £120.
He was ordered to pay £115 in costs and a surcharge.
