A man who kept ‘something for the weekend’ in a plastic egg sped off when spotted by police.
David Fletcher, care of Hayscastle Cross, pleaded guilty to two Class A drug charges when he appeared before Haverfordwest magistrates on Tuesday, February 5.
Prosecutor Vaughan Pritchard- Jones, said police officers noticed Fletcher averting his eyes when he drove past them at 10.40pm on October 13.
“He put his foot down and sped off.”
Fletcher, 38, was stopped and arrested shortly afterwards, and a plastic egg fell out of his trousers when he was searched at the police station.
The item contained brown powder and two tablets, which were found to be 0.91 grams of heroin and two ecstasy tablets.
Fletcher states that they were for his personal use over the weekend.
Jonathan Webb, defending, said a small amount of drugs was found and Fletcher admitted they were his in interview.
“He had purchased them to take recreationally on the weekend.”
Magistrates ordered Fletcher to pay £355 in fines, costs and a surcharge.
A destruction order was made for the seized drugs.
