A very special girl from Wolfscastle will be remembered by friends and family on Monday.
Ten-year-old Belle Curran passed away on April 5.
The Spittal School pupil was on the Great Ormond Street emergency transplant list, having been diagnosed with Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD) at the age of two. This rare condition makes sufferer's lungs stiff, hard and scarred making breathing a huge effort.
Brave Belle had touched the hearts of thousands of people, both locally and from further afield.
She and her family raised awareness of organ donation and, together with her supporters, she had helped raise £35,000 for five charities which helped children in a similar situation to her.
Belle's Story is currently in the process of becoming registered charity and supports Puffin Ward, Withybush Hospital; Noah's Ark Children's Hospital, Cardiff; Great Ormond Street Heart and Lungs; Ty Hafan Children's Hospice and Make A Wish.
Belle was the recipient of a Radio Pembrokeshire Child of Courage award and, last month, a special award from S4C.
Belle’s funeral service will take place at 11.30am on Monday, April 15, at Penybont Chapel, Wolfscastle. It will be followed by cremation at Parc Gwyn, Narberth at 1pm.
There will be family flowers only.
Donations, in lieu if desired, made payable to Belle's Story, c/o Paul Jenkins and Sons Funeral Directors, Feidr Castell, Fishguard, SA65 9BB. Tel: 01348 873250.
