Mr Edwin Kelly

Milford Haven Mr Edwin William Kelly aged 82 of Milford Haven passed away peacefully at Morriston Hospital on November 4th.

Eddie was born in Priory Road and was one of nine children. He worked all his life in Milford Haven, finally retiring after many years with Dyfed Cleaners. His interests in retirement were his family, Car, DIY and woodturning.

Eddie was predeceased by brother Arthur, John and sister Ena.

The family left to mourn and principal mourners are his loving wife Margaret; David and Daphne (son and daughter-in-law); Marcus and Natasha (grandchildren); Henry and Barbara (brother and sister-in-law); Phyllis and Donald, Beryl and Derek, Maureen and Mick, Pat and Alan and Doreen (sisters, brothers-in-law and sister-in-law), plus many nieces, nephews and friends. The bearers were Alan, Sandy, Donald, Phillip and Mark Griffiths.

A service was held at St Katherine's and St Peters Church followed by a service at Parc Gwyn Crematorium, Narberth, The officiating minister was Canon John Davies.

There were immediate family flowers with donations in lieu of flowers to Cancer research (sent to Margaret Jones, 113 Waterloo Road, Hakin, Milford Haven.

The funeral arrangements were carried out by Tom Neing and Sons, Milford Haven.

Mr William Henry Pugh (Bill)

Pembroke The death occurred recently of Mr William Henry Pugh (Bill) of Wrench Close Grove, Pembroke. He was 81.

Originally from Pontsticill, he spent his working life completely two years national service in the RAF, 33 years in the police force as a police inspector and 11 years as a town clerk for Pembroke. He was the 621st Mayor of Pembroke between 200/2001.

His hobbies included fishing, golf, music, snooker, DIY and Charity Work (Lions), South Pembrokeshire Golf Club (Senior Captain in 1997), Charter Member of Pembroke and Pembroke Dock Lions, for which in 2009 he received The Melvyn Jones Fellowship Award from the Lions Club International Foundation for Dedicated Humanitarian Services. He was also a school governor of Grove School, Pembroke.

His other interests included being an active member of Monkton Priory Church.

The family left to mourn and principal mourners were Elaine Pugh (wife); Karen and Neil (daughter and son-in-law); Gemma and Carly (granddaughters); Charlie and Margo (brother and sister-in-law); Joe (great nephew); Avril and John, Peter and Marilyn, Adrian and Chris, Leighton (cousins); Roy and Joan, Karen, Theresa, Dave and Wendy and Jack (close friends); Geraint and Ann (neighbours); Pembroke and Pembroke Dock Lions Club; Pembroke and Pembroke Dock Town Council; The Guild of Freeman of Pembroke.

Unable to attend Margo (sister-in-law); Angela, Ann-Marie, Jennifer (nieces); Paul (nephew-in-law); Steve (nephew-in-law); Carol (niece-in-law); Kerry, Lillian and Sue (cousins); Angharad and Daniel (neighbours); Rob (close friend).

The funeral service took place at Monkton Priory Church followed by cremation at Parc Gwyn, Narberth. It was officiated by Rev Martin Cox and Rev Roger Jones, tributes were paid by Neil (son-in-law) and poems were read by Gemma and Carly (granddaughters).

The bearers were Jonathan Pugh (nephew); Graham Chadwick (nephew); Mark Davies (godson); Nigel Eastwood (close friend); Austin Davies (close friend); Hugh Colley (former colleague).

There were family flowers only with donations if so desired for the Paul Sartori Foundation and Ward 10 Withybush Hospital c/o Mr Graham Thomas, 34 Charles Thomas Avenue, Pembroke Dock SA72 6UR.

The funeral arrangements were carried out by E C Thomas and Son, Pembroke Dock.

Mr Ronald Hayes

Saundersfoot The death occurred on November 7th of Mr Ronald Hayes, of Belle Vue, The Ridegway, Saundersfoot, at Withybush Hospital. He was 78.

Originally from Neath he was a farming accounts clerk, South Wales Electricity Board linesman and a postman, from which he took early retirement due to ill health.

He was housebound for a number of years, but his interests included reading, television and listening to Welsh Male Voice Choirs. He supported his wife in her many commitments to voluntary work and was for many years organiser for the WRVS country cars.

The family left to mourn and principal mourners are Rosemary Hayes (wife); Roger Hayes and Ann Evans (son and fiance); Rosemary Williams (sister); Allan and Raydene Deakin (sister-in-law and brother-in-law); George and Audrey Watts (cousins); Byron and May Phillips and other cousins; Jane and John Jones (niece and husband); Helen Morris (cousin).

Unable to attend Dan Birch and Ben Birch (great nephews).

The funeral service was held at Parc Gwyn Crematorium followed by a service of thanksgiving for his life at St Issell's Church which was officiated by Rev Canon Michael Butler, who also gave the tribute. The choir were in attendance and a reading was given by Mrs Rose Caine and Mr Peter Williams.

The bearers were Rob Lewis, Michael Lewis, Gerald Rogers and Don Poole (cousins).

Donations in lieu of flowers for St Issell's Church or Cancer Research, Saundersfoot branch to Mr Graham Picton, 2 Belle Vue, The Ridgeway, Saundersfoot.

Mrs D M Roberts

Pembroke The death occurred suddenly but peacefully at Withybush Hospital on October 28th of Diana Mary Roberts of Pembroke. She was aged 66. Diana was brought up in Castlemartin and attended Stackpole School and later Pembroke Grammar School.

On leaving school she joined the Midland Bank in London and was employed at the Park Lane and Knightsbridge branches. She met her husband Cled in London and they married at Castlemartin Church in 1966. After the birth of her two eldest, sons Gareth and Neil. Diana returned to work for the National Westminster Bank at the Oxford Street branch.

In 1979 Diana returned to Pembroke, having purchased The Castle Inn public house in the Main Street. She and Cled managed the business for the next ten years. During this time their youngest son Stuart was born. After selling The Castle Inn, Diana and Cled purchased a newsagent business in Main Street, Pembroke which they again managed for a further ten years. Diana finally retired in 1999.

The family left to mourn are Cled (husband); Gareth and Sarah (son and wife); Neil and Mel (son and partner); Stuart and Luck (son and partner); Cara, Jessie, Daisy, George, Tabitha, Molly, Mila, Sol, Finn, Nathan (grandchildren); Shay (great grandchild); Martin and Sonia (brother and wife); Christine and Eric (sister and husband); John and Carol (brother and wife) and many nephews and nieces.

The funeral took place at St Michaels and all Angels Church, Castlemartin followed by internment in the churchyard. The service was led by the Reverend Geoffrey Howell.

The bearers where Gareth, Neil, Stuart (sons) and Graham Corbett (nephew).

Mr Peter Robert Durdin

Penally Mr Peter Robert Durdin of St Nicholas Crescent, Penally passed away at Withybush Hospital on November 5th. He was 83.

Originally from Middlesex, he was an electrical engineer and represented Great Britain on European standards.

His main interests were science and technology, being a radio ham, Probus - President (former); Past Master of Mendon Lodge and Tenby and District Arts Club.

The family left to mourn and principal mourners were Dorothy (wife); Paul Durdin and Christine (son and daughter-in-law); John Durdin and Sarah (son and partner); Mark Durdin and Sue (son and partner); Sue Moon and Colin (daughter and partner); Daniel and Hannah (grandson and wife), Charlie, Sally and Ed (grandchildren); Sophia (great grandchild); Janet Vine and Brian (sister and brother-in-law). Also in attendance were people from Baptist Church, United Reform church, Anglican Church, Probus members, plus family and friends locally and also from London, Somerset and Clacton.

The funeral took place at St Mary's, Tenby followed by cremation at Parc Gwyn Crematorium and was officiated by reverend Michael John. The bearers were Arthur Evans, Terry Brace, Paul Hay and Stewart Treharne.

Mrs Annie May John

Begelly The death occurred at Withybush Hospital on October 25th of Annie May John of Shipping Cottage, Begelly, Kilgetty. She was 92.

She left school and started work in Tenby as a seamstress, then went to Penally Abbey until she got married in November 1940. In her later years she worked in Begelly, Tenby and Pentlepoir school canteens.

Her main interests were sewing, knitting, gardening, and crosswords. She also belonged to Begelly WI, Kilgetty WI, Begelly Mothers Union, and was a life long member of St Marys Church, begelly.

She was predeceased by her husband Vincent John.

The family left to mourn and principal mourners are Clive and Val (son and daughter-in-law); Rosemary and Delme (daughter and son-in-law); Christopher and Marina (grandson and wife); Mark, Ian, Andrew and Darren (grandsons); Kieran, Libby, Tanya, Natasha and Rhys (great grandchildren); Mrs Gwyneth John (sister-in-law), together with relatives and friends too numerous to mention.

Unable to attend were Mrs Rosie John and Mrs Leta Obrian (sisters-in-law) The funeral service was held at St Mary's Church, Begelly and was officiated by Rev Sarah Geach and Fr Paul Davies. The bearers were Christopher John, and Mark John (grandsons), Peter John (nephew), Desmond Stone.
