Thefts on farms and in rural areas of Pembrokeshire are not being reported to police.

PCSO Jude Parr from the Haverfordwest rural neighbourhood policing team is working to set up a Farm Watch scheme.

However, while discussing the idea she has discovered many people who have had items stolen but have not reported it to the police.

She said: “People have just accepted the loss and not reported it to us. Although we may not be able to locate your stolen items, if we are not aware of it we can’t do anything about it.

“It is important that we are told what crimes are taking place so we can tackle criminals effectively.”

Farm Watch is similar to a neighbourhood watch scheme and encourages people to be vigilant, pool their knowledge and report any suspicious activity to the police.

Anyone interested in joining the scheme can contact PCSO Jude Parr on 0845 330 2000 or at HaverfordwestNPT@dyfed-powys.pnn.police.uk.
