St Clears 3 Merlins Bridge 4
MERLINS Bridge picked up their first win with an enthralling 4-3 victory at newly promoted St Clears.
Peter Thomas gave the visitors the lead when he latched on to a clever Marcus Taylor flick-on. The Saints equalised just before half time when Thomas Hughes fired through a crowded area.
The hosts took the lead when Josh James converted a long throw-in. But the Wizards brought on substitute Daniel Brace and he grabbed two quick goals in succession. Firstly, he scored with a cheeky back heel and followed up with a low drive from inside the box. Stephen McNabney put the Wizards 4-2 up with simple tap-in. The visitors grabbed a late goal through Ynyr James, the substitute easily beating Carl Woodhouse from 30-yards out.
