Gents

LAST Saturday, the gents section held a Chapman Foursomes for the Ardent and Old Warrior Trophy.

With the Tigers playing their last match of the season the number of entries was reduced to twenty nine pairs with Shaun Dyson and Liam Eva returning an excellent score of gross 64 nett 62.5 which was an excellent round of golf considering that they only had 1.5 shots with Shaun playing off a handicap of 1 and Liam playing off a handicap of 2

Seniors

LAST Thursday, 34 seniors played in a stableford competition which was also a qualifier for points for the Colin Reynolds Salvers.

The winner was Steve Phillips with 41 points which meant a reduction in handicap of one shot followed by Chris Naylor in runners-up spot with 40 points.

Hole-in-ones

WITH very few hole-in-ones during the season in the last 11 days four players have hit aces; congratulations to all of them.

Jack Jenkins hit the first one on Tuesday, September 3 on the 16th hole.

Roy John hit his first hole-in one-on the par three sixth on Friday, September 6.

Steve Phillips hit his hole-in-one on Wednesday, September 11 on the par three tenth hole.

On Saturday, September 14 James Picton hit his ace shot on the fourth hole.

Tigers

THE Tigers played their last division one Dyfed League match of the season at home last Saturday against Garnant Park golf club.

The result was a win for Milford Tigers by seven matches to two with only Shaun Dyson and Nathan Day along with Donald Forrest and Sean Conway losing their matches. The win gave the Tigers an unbeaten record at home for the season.

Rabbits

LAST Sunday, the Rabbits travelled to Haverfordwest to play in the Three Counties Pool A match. The result was an excellent win for the Milford by 4.5 matches to 2.5 matches giving them a total of eight and a half points.

This Sunday, the Rabbits will play their last Pool A league match of the season when they entertain Carmarthen Golf Club.

Cheese and Wine Party

TO celebrate the success of the recent Welsh Team Championship held at the club the committee would like to invite all members and staff plus their spouses/partners to attend a cheese and wine party at the club on Tuesday, September 24, at 7.30pm.

The Simpson Cup

CONGRATULATIONS and best wishes to Milford Haven Golf Club member Dave Onions in retaining his place in the team for The Simpson Cup in the On Course Foundations match against the USA team to be played later this month.

This year the build up started early in 2013 with a visit to Milford Haven Golf Club of Paul Swain, (left arm amputee) and playing partner of Dave Onions (blind left eye) and David Ward (right lower leg amputee) Captain of the 2012 team, during the clubs Presidents Chris Davies Austwel charity day back in Easter.

The club again hosted players from the On Course Foundation, including this years Simpson Cup Captain Ian Bishop (double leg above knee amputee)

This years tournament build up starts with the move of the entire team to the London Club in Kent on September 1617 followed by a move to Blackpool for Links Golf and match play training, with the tournament being held at Royal Lytham and St Annes Golf Club from September 22 to 25.
