Welsh Cup, Round One
STM Sports 0
Haverfordwest County 2
AFTER a keenly-contested first half the Bluebirds overcame spirited STM Sports to clinch victory.
The first half was quite tight and the Sports had two or three real chances to score. But the Blues were able to play through this patch until, in the last half-hour, they began to get on top and, in the last half-hour, were able to dominate.
The first goal did not come until the 69th minute, but was well worth waiting for as Declan Carroll let fly from 25 yards with a real screamer. Just four minutes later, the scoreline was made a little easier as Jordan Follows again jinked through to notch the second.
Haverfordwest County are home against Rhayader Town on Saturday, November 8, kick-off is at 2,30pm in the second round of the southern half of the draw.
This Saturday, October 11 the Bluebirds travel to play Ton Pentre in the league.
There is also a very attractive fixture on the Conygar Bridge Meadow on Tuesday, October 14, when the Bluebirds play a friendly against a Swansea City Development XI.
