Manderwood Pembrokeshire League Division One:

Carew 4-1 Narberth

A BRILLIANT first half hat-trick from Scott Ferney set Carew on their way to a comfortable victory against Narberth at the Recreation Ground.

With their West Wales Cup semi final in mind, The Rooks opted to leave top scorer Sam Christopher on the bench, and there was no iwan Izzard and Jack Christopher in their 14-man squad.

But it mattered little thanks to a dominant first half display, as Ferney bagged goals in the 15th, 22nd and 35th minutes, showing clinical finishing that gave his side a healthy three-goal cushion.

In the 75th minute Ferney’s co-striker Jordan Richards added a fourth goal, sweetly striking a shot from the edge of the 18 yard box.

The visitors scored a late consolation goal through Chris Brown following an excellent build-up, but at the final whistle The Rooks were good value for three points.

It means The Bluebirds slip to third in the table, behind Monkton - while Carew lie tenth, although Nick Scourfield's side have only played 12 league games thus far and have matches in hand on all teams around them.
