Pembrokeshire rugby previews for Saturday, May 5th (2.30pm):

Narberth v Skewen

For Narberth the task is simple - any kind of win from their final game seals a creditable second placed finish.

They will be favourites to get it at home to Skewen, although will be wary that the visitors themselves desperately need to win to avoid the drop.

If The Otters (67 points) do lose, they will be relying on Bedlinog to overcome Trebanos (65 points) - otherwise the latter could push them into third.

Narberth: Jake Jenkins, Nick Gale, Kieran Jones, Paul Davies, Kieran Griffiths, Ianto Griffiths, Lewys Gibby, Bradley Davies, Dan Smith, Tom Slater, Jake Simm, Alex Jenkins (captain), Dewi Williams, Sean Jenkins, Steffan Phillips.

Replacements: Tom Kaijaks, Rhodri Owens, Harry Phillips, Rhys Lane, Geraint Powell.

Division One West:

Crymych v Llangennech

After their 28-10 win over Gowerton on Tuesday, four points from four games will see Crymych climb above Penclawdd (already finished) and escape relegation.

At Christmas, the idea of the Preseli Men escaping the drop with games to spare was inconceivable, but they have put a remarkable run together and having watched them beat Tenby United 52-10 last Saturday, I have no doubt they will now survive.

And with the visitors tomorrow having little to play for, I can see them finishing the job here.

Llanelli Wanderers v Tenby United

Speaking of Tenby, their situation is suddenly a lot more precarious.

They lie second bottom, and need six points from three games to ensure safety.

And tomorrow they go to Llanelli Wanderers, who themselves need another win to be sure of Division One rugby next season.

The Seasiders will have to up their game from Crymych next week, or the pressure on their final two matches against Dunvant and Felinfoel will be huge. As the league positions below show.......

Bottom six:

Penclawdd - played 22 games and 44 points (finished).

Kidwelly - 20 and 42.

Llanelli Wanderers - 20 and 42.

Crymych - 18 and 41.

Tenby United - 19 and 39.

Tycroes - 19 and 19 (relegated).

Division Two West:

Fishguard v Whitland

Now things get messy.

Whitland are already promoted, and although the 22-17 loss in Yr Hendy last week has made life harder for them, the title is still in their hands.

The second placed Borderers (86 points) now trail the Llanelli side (89 points), but have two games left, while Yr Hendy have one (Loughor on May 9th).

Therefore, nine points in two matches, in Fishguard tomorrow then home to Mumbles, will be enough for the silverware.

But The Seagulls also have two games left and have every reason to fight themselves.

They are seven points clear of the bottom two, but can still be caught by Amman United. If they don't win tomorrow, and then lose to the Valley side when they host them on May 12th - then they will be sweating on the outcome of Amman v Pontyberem on May 19th.

Whitland: Aaron Ebsworth, Liam Price, Jonathan Thomas, Scott Lloyd, Sean Coles, Nico Setaro, Adam Davies, Tomos Evans, Marc Jones (captain), Michael Ryan, Raff Williams, Dai Ebsworth, Ryan Morgan, Jamie Lewis, Jack Mason.

Replacements: Aaron Mayne, Gethin Lewis, Micaiah Jones, Josh Thomas, Tom Parry, Danny Evans.

Fishguard: Robbie Jones, Jamie Lewis, Thomas George, Ben John, Osian Lewis, Mike Jenkins, Alun George, Neil Perkins, Gavin Walsh (captain, Ryan McVeigh, Luke Freebury, Jac Evans, Jordan James, Chris Shousha , Simon James.

Replacements: Mark James, Adam Bowen, Richard Hunter, Lewis Davies, Andrew Williams.

St Clears v Pontarddulais

But between Fishguard and Amman lie St Clears, who themselves are five points clear of the drop zone. Their advantage is they have three games left, the first of which against third placed Pontarddulais tomorrow.

Mike Jones and co need six points from three games to guarantee safety, but given their last two games are away, a result here is crucial.

Confused? Don't blame you. Hope this clears things.......

Bottom five:

Pontyberem - 20 games and 38 points.

Fishguard - 20 games and 37 points.

St Clears - 19 games and 35 points.

Amman United - 20 games and 30 points.

Llanybydder (relegated) - 22 games and 15 points (finished).

Division Three West A:

Pembroke v Llangwm (tonight, Friday May 4th at 7pm)

Pembroke suffered a National Bowl hangover against Aberaeron Wednesday as they trailed 24-5, but then showed great character to fightback and win 41-24.

That result puts them three points behind leaders Milford Haven, but The Scarlets have three games in hand to play before the two meet on May 19th, the last league match for both.

So in short, nine points from those three games will render the title race all over by the time The Mariners arrive in Crickmarren.

The home side will want to chalk five of them off tonight, against a Llangwm team who has battled hard to finish the season.

Tonight is their final game and irrespective of the result they won't move off the bottom, but will want to finish with heads held high.

Aberaeron v Pembroke Dock Quins

Aberaeron lie fourth and finish the campaign here.

They cannot move any higher but will be wary that Haverfordwest, one place and five points below them, have an extra game left. So a bonus point win tomorrow will all but secure a top four finish.

The Quins have two games left but cannot move from their league position of eighth - and will simply be looking to add to their tally of six wins.

Cardigan v Neyland

Neyland (seventh) won the reverse fixture in the dying seconds last month, and arrive at Cardigan (sixth) with the pair neck and neck on 46 points.

Both have two games left to play and mathematically could catch Haverfordwest (55 points) - but in all reality this clash is a shootout for sixth.

Cardigan: Kieran Hurley, Daf Owens, John Lumb, Casey Walters, Rhydian Jenkins, Tom Dunn, Gwern Phillips, Andrew Jones, Luke Palmer-Davies, Ben Hughes, Dean Harries, Toby Neilson, Tom Taylor, Gruffydd Lewis, Colin Davies.

Replacements: William Brice, Ben Cox, Richard Jones, Russ Hasler, Gwion Morgan.
