Manderwood Pembrokeshire League Division 1: Carew 11-1 Clarbeston Road

Carew thrashed Clarbeston Road at home to go top of the table on goal difference, with The Rooks winning their first three games of the season.

The Rooks led 3-0 at half time and then ran riot in the second period where they banged in a further eight goals - with Jason Griffiths scoring the visitors’ only goal during the second half.

Iwan Izzard scored a stinging 20 yard volley for the opener, and Jack Christopher headed home the second. Shaun Whitfield promptly added the third from close range.

After the break and Whitfield added the fourth with a neat left peg finish.
Jordan Richards scored a stunning fifth goal with virtually his first touch after coming on, striking an unstoppable 30 yard screamer. Minutes later Richards grabbed his second of the game for number six.

Striker Sam Christopher added a brace with two well takes goals from inside the box, and Lloyd Hughes was on target for the ninth before two superb finishes by Alex Bayley and James Hinchliffe completed the rout.

For Clarbie, who welcome Lamphey this Saturday, Griffiths at least grabbed the consolation of a third goal in as many games.

Carew meanwhile, go to Neyland.
