Manderwood Pembrokeshire League Division 1: Neyland 0-5 Merlins Bridge

The gap between Merlins Bridge and leaders Monkton closed again last night as the Wizards notched a ninth straight league win at Neyland.

A hat trick from Nathan Greene and goals for Chris Ormond and Will Haworth completed the win, meaning Matthew D'Ivry's side lie seven points off the Swifts but with two games in hand.

Those matches come Wednesday (Narberth home) and Saturday (Saundersfoot away), before Bridge will take a welcome week off ahead of the Senior Cup final.

Last night they were 3-0 up by half time, Greene giving them the lead after 15 minutes as he headed in from Matthew D'Ivry's cross.

Ormond headed home the second after 36 minutes from a Luke Hayward corner and then 10 minutes later, it was Haworth who drilled a shot in off the post from Joe Leahy's pass.

Neyland did have chances in the second half but it was Greene who extended the lead in the 54th minute with a right footed shot one from Haworth's square pass.

And with 20 minutes later he sealed his treble, and the win, when he found space in the area to fire past Patrick Hannon.

The Nomads will finish their season at home to Hakin on Wednesday. They currently lie 10th although can still be overtaken by Saundersfoot below them.
