Prendergast Villa 1.

Hakin United 5.

Second placed Hakin United gained a comfortable victory at second from bottom Prendergast Villa.

With leaders Merlins Bridge losing heavily at Monkton, this well earned Vikings win means they close the gap at the top to just six points.

They also have a game in hand over the Wizards, making the title race very interesting.

Villa opened the scoring in the tenth minute when James Green comfortably beat Vikings keeper Steve Hartley from the edge of the area.

However, ten minutes later Michael Cooper equalised for Hakin with an easy far post tap-in.

Villa were reduced to ten-men after Arron Devine used foul and abusive language towards referee Andrew Amies.

Two minutes before the interval Justin Harding adding his side's second, unleashing an unstoppable 14-yarder.

After the break the Vikings totally dominated, with Cooper getting his second of the match with a four-yard far post tap-in.

Veteran centre half Kristan Bennett made no mistake with the fourth, stemming from a free kick into the box, and Jonathan Bennett wrapped up the scoring with a fantastic 18-yard strike.

James Skudder's father Nick came out of retirement to help out the Villa on Saturday, and Telegraph Sport was told Nick showed his son he still hasn't lost any of his fancy footwork.
