Budding golfers are able to get lessons in Haverfordwest.

Haverfordwest Golf Club is offering adults an opportunity to learn the game through a scheme known as "New to Golf."

Based in Arnold's Down, PGA professional Elliot Harding will give expert instruction during the programme's six lessons.

The New to Golf scheme is set to start on May 7 at the Haverfordwest Golf Club.

Wales Golf funds the six lessons, with the club only charging a £40 fee for temporary membership to cover administrative and equipment costs, providing a budget-friendly gateway into the sport.

Registration is already open and can be done online through the Wales Golf website.

After registration, further details about the scheme will be provided.

There will also be a "meet and greet" event for interested individuals on April 30 from 5.30pm to 6.30pm.

This event serves as a platform for participants to ask any questions and get to know others before the course starts.

Assisting new golfers is club mentor team leader Pat Roblin. Pat leads a team of golfers who are members of the club, with their aim being to welcome new members and those joining the scheme.

Pat said: "We know from experience that the New to Golf scheme can be the start of a surprisingly quick journey into the game of golf.

"We provide whatever helpful tips and support that we can."

The mentors support new golfers throughout their one-year trial membership, offering helpful tips to make them feel at home in the club.

"I'd encourage anyone who fancies a taste of golf to sign up for these six lessons and then join us at the meet and greet on April 30," added Pat.
